The Chauvin Arnoux temperature sensor is capable of measuring a narrower range of temperatures than the BT1 sensor 0°C to +90°C. It is widely used in industry, taking advantage of the fact that the resistivity of the metal (platinum resistor) varies according to the temperature. The initial value of a Pt100 probe is 100Ω at a temperature of 0°C.
