RS PRO Black Acetal Rod, 1m x 36mm Diameter

These rods from RS PRO are designed to provide structural support in high-wear applications. They're used in both industrial and home environments for applications such as instrument handles and friction bearings. The rods come in packs of two.


The material used to manufacture these rods is polyoxymethylene (POM), a thermoplastic known more commonly as acetal. POM is used to make very hardwearing, rigid components with low friction and excellent dimensional stability. It's easy to machine and drill into, meaning you can modify these rods to suit your application.


These acetal rods have been approved as a safe food contact material, so they're suitable for use in the food and beverage industry. They have an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 94 HB flammability rating, meaning that they give some protection from fire and burn slowly in a horizontal position.
