RS PRO Opaque Fluoroplastics PTFE Rod, 500 mm x 50 mm Diameter


This opaque fluoroplastics extruded rod is made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). It's suitable for use in chemical, engineering and mechanical applications. As part of the RS PRO range, it meets our high-quality standards.

The rod’s PTFE construction gives it extremely high chemical resistance. High-temperature tolerance means it can operate at temperatures up to +260°C. It also has a high tensile strength of 25 MPa. The rod is low friction and low adhesion and has excellent dielectric properties. As it's resistant to radiation, it’s suitable for use in many challenging work environments.

The fluoroplastic PTFE rod is manufactured to DIN 53479, DIN 53736 and ASTM-D 1929 standards for plastic and elastomer testing. It has a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0 and a melting point of +327°C. Measuring 500 mm long and with a 50 mm diameter, the rod is used for machining custom components in many engineering environments.
