StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 2m Cable Length, Single Mode OS2 Fibre - SMLCSC-OS2-2M

This Fibre optic cable provides a duplex single-mode link for high-speed network interconnects. It is intended for 100Gbps environments and supports extended Wavelength operation for Wavelength-division multiplexing. The cable is constructed with a low-smoke zero-halogen outer jacket for installations in confined or poorly ventilated spaces and is suitable for connections between servers, switches and data centre equipment.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss ensures low signal attenuation
• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength enables CWDM across an extended range
• Bend-insensitive core reduces loss from tight routing
• 55 dB return loss improves signal reflectance performance
• LSZH jacket lowers toxic emissions during combustion

Applications

• Used with 100 Gigabit Ethernet links in data centres
• Suitable for connecting servers to switches and storage
• Ideal for enclosed transport environments such as trains
• Used for legacy networks requiring OS1 compatibility

What connector styles are provided with this cable?

It features LC duplex to SC duplex connectors with UPC polishing.

How is mechanical alignment achieved at the Fibre interfaces?

Ceramic ferrules provide precise alignment for minimal insertion loss.

What temperature range can it operate within?

It operates between -20°C and 60°C.

How is safety addressed for installations in confined spaces?

The outer jacket is LSZH, which reduces smoke and toxic fumes if combusted.
