The precision-shaped grain on this 3M ceramic disc maximises its cut rate, meaning it needs less pressure and reduces fatigue on the operator. A strong resin bond between the grain and the tear-resistant fibre backing minimises damage to the disc while you work. Its life is further prolonged by the incorporated grinding aid which keeps the disc cool. This wheel is designed to be used with a 3M backing pad (288-471).

Using the 3M™ 787C outperforms conventional ceramic discs. Designed to be used with a 3M™ backing pad with an angle grinder or sander. This fibre wheel is well-suited to edge chamfering, machining grooves, removing steel welds and more.

This disc is intended for sanding hard metal surfaces and isn't suitable for use on wood.

3M precision-shaped grain is a triangular-shaped grain that wears evenly to combine durability with consistency. The grain continually fractures as it wears to form new sharp points and edges that slice cleanly through the material.

The Roloc™ system from 3M™ provides a secure attachment on heavy duty applications. It allows for Roloc discs to be quickly swapped out from one application to another in seconds. The plastic threaded button or screw is designed to easily and quickly screw on a Roloc disc pad (50 mm backing pad - 288-471).

The 3M™ 787C heavy-duty fibre discs are great for weld removals, grinding and blending large and small metal areas. This could occur in industries such as farm and construction, automotive, ship and boat building, metal fabrication.

The 787C is used for stainless steel and other non-ferrous alloys such as aluminium and titanium, the 782C disc is used for carbon steel (Sold at RS).

These abrasive discs are designed for use on metals and not recommended to be used on wood.

What safety requirements should I observe?

When grinding metal or sanding, appropriate personal protection equipment should be worn. Gloves, eye protection and even respiratory protection are essential PPE for general purpose grinding and polishing applications.
