What is a Lighting Connector?

Introduced in 2012 by Apple Inc, the lighting connector replaces the 30-pin connector. The lighting connector is a small connector used for Apple’s mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads and iPods which can be used for charging and connecting devices to computers/laptops to sync-data, audio and video output. The lighting cable has two different connector ends, one being a USB-A type and the other end being the thin lightning adapter which is also fully reversible.
