The bearing can handle misalignment and axial displacement without creating internal axial loads, and there's virtually no increase in friction. This removes the need to compromise between a firm fit and axial freedom, meaning tight fits can be used to eliminate 'creep' (or slippage), as well as wear and tear between surfaces.
