How does a bourdon tube pressure gauge work?

A bourdon tube pressure gauge like this one has an internal curved tube with an oval cross-section. When active, the element being measured presses on the tube, which triggers the external indicator to show the pressure reading. As it's entirely mechanical, it doesn't need an electrical power source.
