Introducing the range of the RS PRO Soft Starters, ideal for protecting motors from stop/starts, reducing load, torque, electrical overload and overcurrent when the motor kickstarts, ensuring a long motor lifespan. The three-phase design offers a higher motor torque and lowers motor temperature rise which can be caused by long start-up ramps or higher torque applications, making it much more durable and hardwearing than standard two-phase control starter devices. Soft starters are a type of motor starter unit that are specifically designed to support motor circuits starting and stopping and picking up the load to reduce wear and tear, limiting production downtime which in turn keeps production levels up and lowers the amount of maintenance work. They also support limiting the torque and electrical surges on start-up, which means as a whole, the motors will have a much longer performance life.
