Eaton Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) - FAZ Series

The FAZ series of miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) from Eatons xEffect range has a current limiting design providing fast short-circuit interruption that reduces the let-through electrical energy and overload currents that can damage the circuit.

Ideally suited to control circuits and electrical distribution boards the FAZ series of MCBs offer a wide range of diverse protection characteristics, protecting your electrical equipment against overload damage. For additional safety, the MCB breaker cannot be defeated by holding the handle in the ON position, these MCBs are also finger proof and have a trip-free mechanism.

These MCBs have both a thermal and electromagnetic release, with rated currents of 0.16 A up to 63 A and a switching capacity of 15kA or 10kA depending on the device type.

The FAZ series includes miniature circuit breakers, interlocks, busbars and snap-on accessories including auxiliaries and tripping modules.

Features and Benefits

• Thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection
• Power to the miniature circuit breakers can be fed from the line or load side
• Clear indication of contact position via front switch toggle
• Easy installation on DIN rail. MCB module width of only 17.5 mm (per pole)
• Six levels of short-circuit protection, categorized by Type B, C, D, K, S and Z curves
• Small modular width of the device and accessories saves space in the panel or equipment, which can lead to cost savings
• Available in single pole up to 4 pole
• Dual rating for IEC 60947-2 standard
• MCB Module widths: 1P 17.5mm, 2P 35mm and 3P 52.5mm

Standards

IEC 898; BS/EN60-898; EN50 022/DIN46277-3 (BS5584).

IEC 60947-2 Relates to Low Voltage Circuit Breakers for use in industrial and similar installations. In the UK these are traditionally known as miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), moulded case circuit breakers
(MCCBs) and also air circuit breakers (ACBs).

Eaton xEffect MCB Mini Circuit Breaker, 240V, 6A - FAZ Series - 278529 FAZ-B6/1

Choose this general-purpose mini circuit breaker (MCB) from Eaton's xEffect range to protect your equipment from overvoltage and short circuits. The component is designed for low-voltage applications and works by cutting off the power supply to the circuit or machine when a fault occurs. As this MCB has compact dimensions of 80mm height and 17.5mm width, it's a good fit for setups with limited space. You can't access its terminals with your fingers, so there's no risk of electric shock. You'll find this component used in electrical distribution boards and machine control panels.

Features & Benefits

• IP40 (ingress protection) rating indicates protection from solid objects over 1mm in size, such as wires and nails
• Can function with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) voltage supplies for versatile use
• Simple snap-fit DIN rail mounting doesn't need any tools for installation
• Electrical life of 10,000 operations for reliable long-term performance

What is overcurrent?

Overcurrent occurs when the rated current is more than the current capacity of the circuit. This can cause damage to the circuit which creates a risk of fire.
