The ABB OTDC series switch-disconnectors are expertly designed for PV applications and are most commonly used to isolate single strings or arrays of solar panels and battery banks. The switch disconnectors can also act as the main switch for the entire photovoltaic application.

OTDC from 16…32 Amperes have numerous DC ratings within the same footprint space and the rated operational voltage can be scaled up to 1000 V to suit your application. Tunnel terminals capture fine stranded wires and they are wide enough to allow wires up to 16 mm and short circuit bars are preinstalled as standard.

OTDC switches from 100…250 Amperes are the only 2-pole solution in the market with an operational voltage of 1000 VDC. This is possible thanks to carefully optimized arc plates and dual magnetic breaking.The switches are symmetrical in design and connections are independent of polarity, meaning they can work in both ways.

The OT range of switch disconnectors are suitable for use in a variety of applications including motor control centres, switchboards and as main switches in machines.
