The FT81x series of Embedded Video Engines offers the designer improved performance over the FT80x series with new features, while retaining pin compatibility. The FT81x provides graphics control, audio control and a touch screen interface.

Hardware engine can recognize touch tags and track touch movement with notification for up to 255 touch tags

Enhanced sketch processing

Integrated 1MB graphics RAM, no frame buffer RAM required

Supports playback of motion-JPEG encoded AVI videos

Audio wave playback for mono 8-bit linear PCM, 4-bit ADPCM and μ-Law coding format at sampling frequencies from 8kHz to 48kHz with built-in digital filter reducing the system design complexity of external filtering
