The composite uses a fibrous felt face for gentle wear contact, an aluminium backing for shape retention, and a nitrile rubber element to provide elastic compression and fluid compatibility.

Select by the internal diameter to SIT snugly on the shaft journal and ensure the external support interfaces correctly with the housing counterbore for even seating.

Periodic inspection for felt wear and rubber hardening is recommended

The elastomer resists common oils while the aluminium backing mitigates dimensional change from temperature, and the felt surface reduces particulate passage.
