The Kingbright L-53HD is a red through-hole LED designed for general purpose indicator applications. This tough, reliable LED is the perfect choice for your PCB, also offering a long lifespan so you won’t need to keep replacing it.

The L-53HD comes in a 5mm package with a traditional round lens. The lens is tinted red and diffused so that, even when the LED is off, it will appear red. The package comes with two general purpose leads for through-hole mounting.

Red is a popular colour choice for status LEDs as it is often associated with meanings such as stop, error and power off/standby. The L-53HD has a bright red light output at around 660nm which is a popular wavelength for red LEDs.
