It is suitable for underground cable joint applications, offshore and naval applications. The medium wall adhesive lined heat shrink is well suited for environmental sealing of a range of electronic, electrical and mechanical applications such as connections, splices etc.

Why should I use the 3M medium wall adhesive lined heatshrink MDT – A Series?
This medium wall adhesive lined heatshrink tubing has good chemical resistance, flame retardant and is self-extinguishing. The adhesive lining allows it form a seal against moisture and other fluids allowing it to be adaptable to various applications.

What does a heatshrink ratio of 3:1 mean?
A ratio of 3:1 means when the tube is heated it shrinks to a third of its original diameter.

How can I shrink the tubing?
A heat gun or a heat shrink oven are ideal ways to shrink your tubing. Before heating always check to ensure you know the correct heating temperature of your tubing.

Remember to ensure all health and safety precautions have been taken prior to using a heating devise.

Keep your electrical components safely under wraps with this heat shrink tubing from 3M. Made from strong-yet-flexible polyolefin plastic, it shrinks when heated to wrap snugly around cable joints, wires and splices. The interior is lined with a specially designed adhesive to ensure a firm grip. By achieving a tight seal, it locks out moisture, while built-in chemical resistance repels contaminants. The tubing's flame-resistant too, so there’s no danger of it contributing to a fire.
