Paperclips are small clips that have been designed to secure sheets of papers together. They are a temporary clip that can easily be applied or removed and do not damage or alter documents in the long term.
Paperclips are most commonly made with looped wire, into two almost complete loops. Some variations are made from vinyl covered wire and are available in different colours.
They are typically made from stainless steel, galvanised steel wire, but can also be made from plastic.
Email clients commonly use a paperclip icon to denote attachments.
